Question:
More about water.
Finish the phrase "Give a man a fish and he will_____________".
What does it mean?
Updated April 30, 2009, 6:xx pm
----------------------
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man how to fish and he will eat for a
lifetime".
The above quote indicates self-reliance is preferred to dependence and teaching others is
preferred to giving to others. Or should I just giving to others?
That could be one perspective. For the optimist.
However, for a cynic, the phrase may indicate something else which is entirely different.
What would a cynic possibly say about the above statement and what it really says about
reality?
A cynic would say that in the rat race of life where the ultimate goals are acquiring more power
and money, "life is a stage".
People come into the world empty and there are those who are perfectly content if we all
remain so. They care nothing about really teaching anyone anything significant!
Life is a stage.
People walk onto the theatre with no makeup, no theatrical clothing and no dramatic words.
When and IF it is determined that one has something to offer, their bareness and nakedness
is not offensive. In fact, it is desirable.
Life is a stage.
Then are be molded and shaped to the liking of those who would be gods.
Those on the stages are given clothing.
They are given the "perfect" face.
They are given the "perfect" words.
And in order to keep up the persona, depending on what they have to offer, they are given the
"perfect" life.
Life is a stage.
This is in the real world says the cynic.
Life is a stage.
"So away with the hogwash (more water) about giving a person a fish. Those in control and
those who want to remain in control, want to give you every thing, even down to the last
punctuation mark of your life. They have no need for really teaching you how to fish. That
would ruin their plans."
So says the cynic.
So, not only will they prop up the ones who can benefit them and their thirst for power and
resources and refuse to prop up others, they are quite willing and thrilled to do so. It is what
they live to do.
Repeat: they are willing and able to do so. It is the work of "gods"!
So says the cynic.
Life is a stage!
When their subjects are depleted of
what they could have had
and
what they should have had
and
what the little they did have,
and
can no longer offer anymore to their gods,
they are then dumped!
So says the cynic.
Life is a stage.
Those subjects are not just left naked and bare, though, as in their original state.
They are left lifeless!
They are left like little scarecrows scattered on the road of life.
Don't be fooled by the word scarecrow, though. They are not the intimidating kind, though.
They are like the little scarecrows on the Road to Oz, like little Michael Jackson, (with Diana
Ross and Nipsey, nip-it-in-the-bud Russell) in "The Wiz" (or was it with Judy Garland?) in the
"Wizard of Oz" singing.....
....."ooooh, if I only had a heart."
Oops. I had forgotten!
(Snatch) The real "gods" make sure they take that, too
"No heart for you! And, "furthermore," they say, "what you don't know is that you just left Oz!
Now it is "Welcome to the Road to HELL!!"
Follow the yellow brick road? Hmm. (Or more accurately: OMIGOD!)*
Oh, well, so says the gods-that-be: "Life IS a stage and we are the puppeteers."
The cynic (moan): Life is a stage.
Which version about the fish do YOU prefer?
-------------------------------
Footnote:
The rest of the "unselected" are just weeds who are ruining the master plan and should be
controlled. However, they tend to feed on what the above offer.
And the atheists say there are no "gods"? I beg to difference. They had better get a real clue.
If man has a need for gods (do they?) and for one reason or another can not find Him, they
tend to make their own. Same difference or worse?
Gosh. I had to proofread this SO many times and still had many mistakes. Sometimes I wonder
about a computer problem and not so much a vision problems when I see so many mistakes!
And
I have seen the "Wizard of Oz" many, many times but I can't remember seeing "The Wiz" in its
entirety. I didn't realize that Dorothy was a teacher!
