Gay Rights

In order to discuss homosexuality with a broader perspective which involves a broader
audience, we must understand why homosexuality would have  been considered an
abomination (and still is by some). It was because of its perceived effects on the social order. I
like to use to following illustration to demonstrate the rationale that homosexuality was an
abomination from the biblical perspective. (I know: some folk will not even like how I phrased
that but it is what it is.) God knows I am not a writer who can produce vivid imagery in the minds
of my readers but I will try.

Try to imagine me (or yourself) as a woman in a land being encroached on by the wilderness
that must be “subdued” and tamed as commanded by the Lord. Survival meant having strong
hands to ensure survival in a wild and unforgiving wilderness. So I find myself a man (or most
likely he finds me..whichever is quickest) and settle down to the task at hand.

I still have to “make” the strong hands, though.  So being the female that I am, I prepare myself
for the process. I take my semi-annual bath. (Well? Some folks only bathe twice in their entire
lives!) I dutifully pick all the bugs from my hair and all the others things that women do. Then I
throw rose petals on the bed, waiting for my man to come and impregnate me.

I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait.

"Hmm" So I pull my drawers up and go out looking for my man. Mind you, I am in a hurry
because I am ovulating and I really don’t have the time (or the desire to take another bath).
And where do I find my MAN!? Doing his (...or MY) “thang” with another man! All that work I
went to "ensure survival" and HE is with another man?
Why would that not be an abomination?

“But he is prettier than you!!”

Rolling my eyes (“like that's really possible”), “Really?
Whatever. But, can he make you some
babies? Huh?
Can he? Can he make you some babies who can clear away all this brush, who
can tame the wilderness, plant and harvest food for our hungry bodies?
Can he? Can he make
you some babies
who can (no! WILL!) grow up to talk back to you,
who can create a large carbon footprint,
destroy the rain forests,
and create a big hole in the ozone layer?
I DON’T THINK SO!
So GIT over here and impregnate me with my 20 babies…as commanded!
"Huh? “
No! I will NOT have them all at once! And "YES!" you MUST do it at LEAST 20 times!”

End of story. (All the men who ARE in my life precisely because they CAN take a joke......
sometimes....... okay?)

See the rationale behind the reasoning that homosexuality is considered an abomination?
Some consider it a threat to the “normal” way of doing things and thus a threat to family life and
society. Try to understand their perspective in order to have a meaningful dialogue with them
IF you must! I am not advocating any type of abusive verbal exchange at any time. However, I
am sure that periodically others will be offended by certain statements.
