I have made several references to addictions on this website. They may not seem sympathetic
but how is an addiction "sympathetic" to anyone? So I don't apologize. I probably should
provide some possible solutions for treatment, though, rather than avoidance of the addicted
person.
There is one addiction that I have not mentioned that, I believe, is more insidious than them
all: gambling. Many times others are not aware a person has a gambling problem until after
the fact: all their money and YOUR money is gone. Substance dependence is dramatized all
the time but you rarely hear about any information about gambling addiction either. Why? I
think it affects us and the economy (negatively in some ways) more than we realized.
I have been stalked (and rubbed) by those with gambling problems, too. Trust me: they can
be just as dangerous as those with a substance dependence.
Naturally, it all started with a dream. ANOTHER one. One reason I hate them so. They are
JUST dreams. Sometimes. (smile)
But THIS page is about gambling and a reference to how insidious it can be, isn't it? But any
time a person is picked up by law enforcement, especially a woman, it is ALWAYS her fault.
GUILTY until proven innocent regardless of the details!! That is a shame. You don't want to
know how that makes me feel....and folks wonder why you even WANT to "toot, toot..."
sometimes.
(PS: Has my writing improved after Lent, folks? I have just decided that I am not going to try to
cram every thought on ONE page. If I can't remember what I need to write at a later date, it
just won't "remembered". These pages can STILL be interesting, too. But I think I should
leave the drama (if you will excuse the phrase) OUT of the writing style itself! It will get even
better. I have the ability to do it.)

Mental Health Thought of The Day

Sound mental health is a process that involves many phases. Sometimes that soundness involves
some moments of unusual insight or moments of epiphany but usually it does not. So don't just get
atttached to one slogan or "thought" you may read here.
